How To Sell On Yapdoof: A Comprehensive Guide.

To sell on Yapdoof, complete your registration and verify your account. Registration typically takes two minutes.

Registration Tips: Paytag Rules - What’s Allowed & What’s Not

On Yapdoof, there are two types of Paytags, each serving a unique purpose but both following strict guidelines to ensure security, consistency, and clarity:

1. Primary Paytag (Registration Paytag)
  • This is your unique identity on the platform, much like a username.
  • It’s used when others make payments to you or when you make payments to others on Yapdoof.
  • It’s visible to other users and represents you across the app.
2. Wallet Paytag
  • This identifies each wallet you create within the app.
  • Every Wallet Paytag automatically generates a public e-commerce webpage where you can list items or services for sale (or leave it empty).
  • People can visit this page, view your listings, and make purchases directly through it.
General Rules for All Paytags

Regardless of the Paytag type, the following rules apply to ensure your Paytag is valid:

✅ What’s Allowed
  • Alphanumeric Characters: Only letters (A-Z), numbers (0-9), and underscores (_) are permitted.
  • At Least One Letter: Your Paytag must include at least one letter. It cannot be made up of numbers only.
  • Length Limit: The Paytag must be 30 characters or fewer.
❌ What’s Not Allowed
  • No Empty Paytags: Every Paytag is required. You can't leave it blank.
  • No "#" or "@" Symbol Prefix: Don’t add any special character prefix to your Paytag. The system handles any necessary prefixes.
  • No Restricted Words: Certain terms are banned to protect users and maintain a trusted platform. Avoid these words:
    • yapdoof
    • porn
    • xxx
    • admin
    • support
    • help
    • gov / govt / nigeria / ngo
    • helpline
    • primary / secondary / app
    • omept / omeptech / omepttechnology and related variations
  • No Spaces or Special Characters: Spaces, special symbols, and punctuation are not allowed—just letters, numbers, and underscores.
  • No Paytags That Are Just Numbers: You can't use a string of numbers alone (e.g., 123456 is not valid).
  • No Overly Long Paytags: Keep it within 30 characters.
Why It Matters
  • Your Primary Paytag is your personal payment handle. It identifies people that sends or receives money.
  • Your Wallet Paytags create public storefronts. A valid Paytag ensures your store page is easily accessible and professional.

Pro Tips

  • Choose a simple, memorable Paytag for your Primary and Wallet Paytags— they represent your brand!
  • (e.g @yapsbakery @yapstore)
  • For Wallet Paytags, match them to the type of products, services, or regional location you offer for better recognition.
  • (e.g @yapsbakery_abuja @yapsbakery_lagos @yapstore_thrifts @yapstore_electronics)
